What is abstract art?
Abstract art is any art in which real objects in nature are represented in a way that wholly or partially neglects their true appearance and expresses it in a form of sometimes unrecognizable patterns of lines, colors and shapes. ( www.worldimages.com/ArtGlossar… )
So what can I submit?
You can submit any abstract art piece that is in the DeviantART "Traditional Art" section. No deviations in the "Photography" or "Digital Art" sections will be accepted. Literature and Prose will also not be accepted.
Is there a limit on how many deviations I can submit?
Yes, there is a limit. Each member is allowed to submit a total of two (2) deviations per week.
Can I submit to the Featured Folder?
Yes, but you should only submit your best work into the Featured folder.
Can I submit digital abstract art?
No. This is a group for traditional abstract art. Sorry for any inconveniences.
My deviation I submitted was declined. Why?
First, if it wasn't abstract art, then it was declined because of that.
Second, if it was made digitally, then it was declined because of that.
Third, if it had poor quality, then it was declined because of that.
*Note* The third reason from above is hard to judge. Abstract art isn't something you can look at and decide if it is poorly made, unlike a drawing of something that exists. If it does look like something poorly made, or thrown together hastily, then it will be declined. Declining a deviation is up to the Admins of the group. If you disagree and think yours shouldn't have been declined, ask one of the Admins why it was declined and send a link to the deviation. It will undergo another look to see if it fits the requirements.
We will also have contests, features, and other things for deviants to get involved in.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.
